Mitsubishi MMT taper tip iron shafts are available for a certain iron number, i.e. #5 iron, #6 iron. taper tip shafts do not take tip trim, just trim from butt end to desired club length. if you are concerned that raw length of #5 iron shaft is too short for the longer #5 iron length, order #4 iron shaft for your longer #5 iron.
