What length shaft should I use if my normal irons I'm replacing are 1.5" over standard with steel shafts? Should I go 1.5" over the recommended length? Do I trim the tip or butt end?

hybrid clubs are often 1" longer club length than the equivalent iron number. if you are a tall person, you may need a longer club length. However keep in mind that a longer club length will increase risk of mis shots and reduces accuracy. Only a professional club fitter with launch monitor and swing analyzer can tell you what is the recommended club length for swing.
